Homes in Wannamal, north of Perth, are under threat from a bushfire that is burning towards the town.
An emergency warning has told residents of Pines Road, Hay Flat Road and the Wannamal townsite they are in danger and need to act immediately.
"There is a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is approaching the area and conditions are changing," the Fire and Emergency Services Authority said early Monday.
"You need to leave or get ready to actively defend."
The bushfire is moving slowly in a northwesterly direction towards the Wannamal townsite at 1km/h and is out of control and unpredictable.
The fire, which was reported at 1.18pm (WDT) on Sunday, has burnt out 1500 hectares burnt.
There are 150 firefighters battling the blaze.
They are working through the night to try to track the fire.
Three helicopters and two fixed-wing water bombers will return to the area at first light on Monday.Source: http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/national/12753495/wa-town-under-bushfire-threat/
